Hydrological Survey - Upper Tennessee River Basin - 1974

Hydrologic Reconnaissance of the Upper Little Tennessee River Basin
USGS Geologic Investigations Report, 1974

Found in the regional documents room at Western Carolina University. Standard TVA-era watershed study. Most of it is exactly what you'd expect—streamflow, geology, precipitation. Worth keeping because it may explain why several unrelated records keep pointing back to the same stretch of valley.

Look at Figure 4 (Geology) and compare it to the marked locations in the 1962 field notebook. The outcrop pattern is unusually close. Also check the streamflow stations on Figure 5. One of the names appears again in the survey notes from '62, but in a context that has nothing to do with water.

Nothing strange in the report itself. Strange that everyone else keeps using the same landmarks.
