The Western Carolinian & Parish Ledger
October 14, 1813 (archival photocopy, c. 1992)

Found folded inside a genealogy binder at a church rummage sale outside Sylva. Almost left it behind. The binder was mostly family group sheets and cemetery records. This was tucked between two pages that had nothing to do with the MacRae family.

It's about our apothecary friend, Isabel.  See the quote in the right column and the location references. Also note where she resumed her work: near the old chapel wall.

Compare the place names here with later maps and the Forest Service notice. Upper Hollow keeps turning up in records that shouldn't have any connection to one another.
